Sommestad & Malmnäs, a company formed by two cousins, to offer the Swedish market unique wines for all occasions.

We were approached to update and reposition the brand that began this venture, Cognato, a non-alcoholic wine alternative that is produced in South Africa and exported to the Swedish market. The brief was to create a contemporary, yet elegant brand that would appeal to the Scandinavian millennial seeking an alcohol-free alternative.

From the onset, our aim was to elevate the brand, whilst retaining the brand loyalty built up since inception. We kept the concept of the familiar logo symbol, however updated the shape and changed the logo typography to achieve a contemporary identity. Furthermore, we relooked the design and dieline of the label and paid close attention to the production finishes and techniques to complement the new identity. These specifications included a luxurious textured cotton paper substrate and beautiful foils for each SKU.
